Rewa-Madhya Pradesh: A teacher of a government school was arrested for allegedly raping a ten-year-old girl, studying in Class 4 in the same school in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district, a police official said on Sunday, 

The incident took place under Sohagi police station limits in the district on Saturday. When the minor girl reached her school, the accused teacher took her to a corner of the school and molested her.

After the incident, the girl reached her home crying and she narrated the whole incident to her family members.. Furious after learning of the occurrence, the girl's family and they hurried to the local women's police station to file a complaint against the accused teacher.

Vivek Kumar Lal, an additional superintendent of police (ASP) in Mauganj, said: "A 10-year-old girl went to the Mahila police station and said that a schoolteacher had assaulted her. In response to the complaint, the police opened an investigation under IPC section 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under the age of twelve) and the relavant POCSO Act provisions."

The incident occurred in Dubahi village under Karahiya police station on  February 6. The accused is identified as Sheru Jatav (30), a resident of the same village. The accused Jatav abducted the girl, and after committing the crime, the accused hid the body of the minor in a farm, police said.
