Bihar Bandh: RJD activists blockade on National Highway, arrested

Patna: The Bihar bandh called in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC on the call of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) saw a partial impact in Bagaha. Several activists arrested the activists after hours of traffic stalled on the National Highway. On Saturday, RJD and Congress workers jointly tried to shut down the Morcha Sambhala and National Highway 727 and close the shops located on the roadside, the main market, in order to make the bandh successful in Bagha Bazar, but they only got partial success in it.

Autos continued from Bagha Bazaar to Bagaha station on the road as before. At the State Back Crossroads, the grand alliance workers stalled the movement of vehicles by lying on the NH for hours. There were long queues of trucks, buses, and cars on either side of the road. Activists shouted slogans of Lalu Yadav Jindabad, Amit Shah, Narendra Modi Murdabad.

After the police announced the arrest of the activists, they took everyone on the way to the police station. Those who were arrested included senior Congress leaders Sanjay Yadav, Tufail Ahmed, senior RJD leaders, city president Armani Khan, RJD Minority Cell state general secretaries Alamgir Rabbani, Mukesh Kushwaha, Suman Yadav, Pappu Yadav. On the other side, processions were also organized in protest against CAA and NRC at places like Ramnagar, Harnatand, Valmiki Nagar and Chautarawa.
