Lucknow: All the political parties have prepared their own strategies for the by-elections in Uttar Pradesh's 12 assembly seats. The Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), along with the Samajwadi Party (SP), seems to be in the mood to contest the by-election. RLD has demanded the Gangoh and Iglaas assembly seats in West UP with his influence before the SP.
In such a situation, now Akhilesh Yadav has to decide whether he walks with the RLD or not. The by-elections are proposed in Gangoh Assembly seat (part of Kairana Lok Sabha constituency) of Saharanpur district and Iglas assembly seat in Hathras district. Pradeep Chaudhary from Gangoh and Rajveer Singh Daler from Iglas were MLAs from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who have now become MPs in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, since then these seats are vacant.
Only after the embarrassing defeat in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, it was made clear by RLD that even though Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has taken a different route from the alliance, it will maintain friendship with SP. By doing this, RLD is eyeing the by-elections in 12 assembly seats and the 2022 assembly elections.
