Hyderabad: Ration supplies will be distributed through mobile OTP authentication at all 670 fair shops in Hyderabad from February 01. Hyderabad Chief Ration Officer B. Bala Maya Devi says. Biometric authentication has been stopped due to the Covid 19 epidemic.

According to civil supplies department officials, all cardholders have to link their Aadhaar card to mobile number for ration so that THE OTP is sent to it. This decision was taken as per the guidelines of the High Court order. The court took this decision after hearing the petition filed. In this petition, the corona infection is likely to spread due to biometric authentication.

Ration content is provided through mobile OTP in these places, as there is no iris authentication facility in Hyderabad and then Ranga Reddy district. OTP will be sent to the mobile number associated with the Aadhaar card. Maya Devi has suggested that all card holders should link their Aadhaar card with a mobile number. Telangana state has 87,44,251 ration card holders. The number of cardholders in Hyderabad district is 5,80,680, while ranga reddy has 5,24,656. 4,94,881 in Malkajgiri, 2,34,940 in Nagapattinam.
