“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement” is what defines Ravi Prabhu. We always get to live our lives just once where one aims to complete one’s goals in this journey. On this note, Ravi Prabhu developed his passion for travel and planned to pack his bags to gain an all-new experience of what the world is all about. “While growing up, I aspired to see many places but I hadn’t thought of covering every country in the world even in my wildest dreams. But when I started exploring the world, I moved my goal post further ahead after every 10 or so countries, thereby eventually hoping to travel the whole world” exclaims an even more thrilled Ravi Prabhu.

The coming section of this post claims to highlight his flair for exploring new places and a few snippets of his childhood. Though he belonged to a middle-class family his parents left no stone unturned to give him exposure to traveling. He would explore a new part of India with his parents in his childhood. With his interest in travel, he started traveling to corners in the world where the majority of the people could not manage to. One such trip was to Gilgit Baltistan.

Post pursuing his MBA in the US he worked as an information systems/management consultant on a long term project with a client from a different city. Since the company paid for his travel expenses he was not afraid to explore the world and meet new clients. “I would fly every Monday to work, and once work ended on Thursdays, I would travel to Europe every other weekend for pleasure. With the number of flights I took, and always armed with a window seat and stunning views, I felt as if I were an eagle soaring high up in the sky with wide wings trotting around the world” exclaims Ravi Prabhu.

In a candid conversation, he recounts one of his best trips to Uluru in Australia. He had been to Alice Springs. "A fascinating thing I did in Australia was flying to Alice Springs. As Australians understand, it is a huge desert and barren land in the center of the country. So going to Alice Springs and looking at the Ayers Rock was a truly unique experience." Though he has been bound by the lockdown he is still optimistic to keep his sanity in check. Every weekend he scrounges for flights and planning his itinerary for his next trip. He believes it is a much-needed break given by god.

Though the lockdown might have slowed him down, he believes that one needs to pursue something of one’s leisure. When he is not traveling he cycles fifteen-mile each day and catches up with all the movies he has missed out with. He has plans to cover up the other nine countries he has missed out with and post lockdown he wishes to complete the same. Stay tuned to watch out for the next edition of his interesting trip to Afghanistan.
