Ravi Shankar, who came in contact with dancer Kamala Devi, was in a live-in relationship with her for a long time. However, later all his relations with Kamala Devi were severed. Sue Jones came into his life. Panditji came in contact with New York concert producer Sue Jones after separating from Kamala Devi. While in a live-in relationship, Sue gave birth to a daughter, Norah Jones, in 1979. His daughter Norah is also a singer and sitar player. In 1981, after separating from Sue Jones, Ravi Shankar came in contact with Sukanya Rajan, with whom Sukanya gave birth to daughter Anushka.

After the birth of their daughter, the two got married in 1989. Now today, Panditji's two daughters are carrying forward the musical legacy even in his absence. While Norah Jones is a famous singer in America today, their daughter Anushka is also a well-known name in the world of music.
