On Saturday, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that terrorists and corrupt people have 'no right to privacy'. He also said that the pressure of populism on the judiciary through social media is a dangerous trend. He said these things while speaking at the International Judicial Conference 2020.

Regarding this matter, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Some people start campaigning on social media about what kind of decisions the court should give and if the decision does not come as they expected, they start criticizing the judges."

In his statement, the Union Law Minister further said, "We welcome disagreement in democracy. We welcome populism but populism can have an impact on constitutional rights." The Union Minister also gave his opinion on the fundamental right of expression and said, "Speak your mind. Ask questions but it should be done in such a way that the idea of India remains strong and flexible." Ravi also talked about global challenges and said, "How do we seek resolution? This is an important question. I am clearly saying that the only rule can be done in the traditional way of governing by the rule of law."
