New Delhi: The central government is in the process of building an electronics hub in the country. The government held a meeting to expand the scope of electronics and smartphone manufacturing industry in the country. In this meeting, the difficulties facing towards making the country an export hub will be made. Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will preside over the meeting. The meeting will be attended by the heads of all the major companies related to electronics and mobile manufacturing.

The meeting is expected to discuss the challenges and incentives facing the sector. The meeting is expected to be attended by CEOs of Apple, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, Qualcomm, Xiaomi, Dell, HP, Bosch, Cisco, Flextronics, Foxconn, Nokia, LG, and Panasonic. The meeting will be attended by each segment of the electronics industry such as mobile handsets, consumer electronics, strategic electronics, medical devices, electronics manufacturing services, components, telecom and LED lighting. While briefing the media about this meeting, IT Secretary Ajay Prakash Sahni said that the government wants to know from the industry what are their plans to expand manufacturing. In view of the employment situation in the country, the government is taking these steps.
