Rayalaseema lift irrigation scheme: Telanagana High court to have its hearing today

Everyday some or the cases are being heard in the Telangana High Court. The Rayalaseema Upliftment Scheme appeal will be heard in the Telangana High Court today. Vamsi Chand Reddy and Gavinolla Srinivas deposited the petition in the court. The petitioner revealed to the court that the Rayalaseema Upliftment Scheme was being carried out in breach of Section 84 of the AP Redistribution Act. The supplication is scheduled to be heard in the High Court today.

Water disputes between Telugu states have been going on for the last few days. There are several conflicts between the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the installation of new projects along the Krishna and Godavari waters and the construction of the Rayalaseema outcrops. The Telangana administration has already twice opposed to the Krishna Water Ownership Board over the Rayalaseema Uplift Scheme, which is headed near the Srisailam reservoir in AP. He also wrote a letter to the Apex Council.

The Union Ministry of Water-Energy mediated and wrote a letter to the CMs of the two states. He wants to attend the upcoming Apex Council. The AP, however, is resolute that the Rayalaseema Upliftment Scheme is not a new project and is implanted in the Partition Act. It says there is no going back on the uplift scheme under any circumstances. The AP government has also called for tenders worth Rs 3,320 crore. On the other hand, Telangana hopes to fight the law if necessary.
