RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das says, 'Strong monitoring system necessary for good business operations'

New Delhi: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has spoken of the need to strengthen the preventive vigilance regime in the economic sector. He said that this is necessary to ensure the efficiency and better operation of the business. The RBI governor said this during a discussion organized by the central bank under Vigilance Awareness Week 2020.

The RBI said in a statement that the governor underlined the important role of vigilance in ensuring good standards of operations in the financial sector. He also emphasized the need to strengthen preventive vigilance regime to increase efficiency. The RBI is celebrating Vigilance Awareness Week from October 27 to November 2, with the theme - 'Vigilant India, Prosperous India'. During this time, a number of programs are being organized in central and regional offices.

Under this, the RBI had organized a discussion on two topics related to vigilance. Central Vigilance Commissioner Sanjay Kothari was the Chief Guest. Kothari stressed on improving the system to strengthen the vigilance system. He also stressed on training and capacity building at various stages of career of bank officials.
