The Reserve Bank will begin the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee from October 7. This meeting will start three days from October 7 and will end on October 9. Top Bank informed this on Tuesday. On Monday, the government-appointed three members in the Monetary Policy Committee panel. On September 28, the Reserve Bank of India canceled the MPC meeting.

On 28 September, the Reserve Bank of India informed that the next meeting of the MPC, which starts from 29 September, has been canceled. Today means on Tuesday, the RBI said in a statement, "The upcoming meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee is scheduled from October 7 to October 9, 2020." The government has appointed three eminent economists Ashima Goyal, Jayant R Verma and Shashank Bhide as members of the MPC.

The new members will replace Chetan Ghate, Pami Dua and Ravindra Dholakia. He was appointed to the panel for four years on September 29, 2016. The same Shashank has a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Iowa State University. Presently, he is Senior Advisor, National Council for Applied Economic Research. He also serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute of Social and Economic Change in Bangalore. Ashima Goyal Goyal has been continuously writing on the economy in national and international journals, more than a hundred of his articles have been published. He has also authored and edited several books, including Macroeconomics and Markets in Developing and Emerging Economies and a concise booklet on Indian Economics.
