Reactions to Assembly Election Dates, From Preparedness to Strength: Kejriwal

New Delhi: On Monday, the Election Commission unveiled the polling dates for five states, namely Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh. The majority of political parties have expressed their approval of the Commission's decision and have affirmed their intentions to promptly commence election preparations. Here is an overview of the responses from various party leaders following the announcement made by the poll panel.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, conveyed his party's determination to vigorously contest the Assembly Elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.

Om Prakash Mathur, the BJP Chhattisgarh incharge, assured that the state party unit was fully primed for the impending elections. He exuded confidence in the BJP securing an outright majority in the state and even ventured to predict a victory in Rajasthan.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, characterized elections as a celebration of democracy. He called upon voters to actively participate in the electoral process and implored all political parties to engage in a peaceful electoral competition.

Randeep Surjewala, a Congress MP, declared that the citizens of all five states would oust the BJP from power and usher in a significant transformation in the country by 2024. He emphasized the readiness of 8.5 crore people in Madhya Pradesh to unseat the BJP and labeled Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as "fatigued and retired."

Narendra Singh Tomar, a BJP leader and Union Minister, extended a warm welcome to the poll body's announcement. He expressed readiness for the Rajasthan elections and all other state polls, believing that diligent party workers would garner the people's support.

Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress President, characterized the poll announcement as a send-off to the BJP and its associates. On the 'X' social media platform, he stated, "In Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram, the Congress party will approach the people with unwavering strength." He underscored that public welfare, social justice, and progressive development were the Congress party's cornerstones.

The elections in the five states are slated to transpire between November 7th and November 30th. Mizoram will cast its votes on November 7th, Chhattisgarh will conduct a two-phase voting on November 7th and 17th, Madhya Pradesh will go to polls on November 17th, Rajasthan on November 23rd, and Telangana on November 30th. The election results for all states will be disclosed on December 3rd.
