The Meteorological Department has declared a red alert for Gujarat and coastal Maharashtra after heavy rains in Mumbai and other coastal areas. Apart from this, an Orange Alert was announced earlier. Due to heavy rains in the district since Tuesday night, there has been waterlogging in many areas. The department has also predicted heavy rains in Gujarat on Thursday. While the department has declared an Orange Alert for Goa. 12 people died in India due to rain and flood-related incidents on Wednesday. 7 people died due to floods in Assam. In Uttarakhand, 4 people, including a pregnant woman, died after falling house. 1 farmer died in Maharashtra due to lightning.

According to the official bulletin, 36 lakh people have been affected in 26 districts of Assam due to floods. Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has said that 92 people have died so far in flood-related incidents. In this, 66 people died in flood and 26 people died in landslides. Dhubri district of the state is most affected by floods, more than 5.51 lakh people are affected there. After this, 5.30 lakh people in Barpeta and about 4.28 lakh people in Goalpara have been hit by floods.
