This case has come up from Bihar where the victim, who hails from Thana Koda area of Katihar district of Bihar, was married to Mohammed Shamim of Araria district about 7 years ago. According to the reports, it is alleged that the father provided whatever was possible in the form of dowry, but the in-laws who craved dowry started harassing the bride.
As the matter progressed, a panchayat was also organized in 2015 and after that, the in-laws agreed to keep the victim at home. Then they took her, but after two days, the victim mysteriously disappeared and after 4 years, the victim reached her home in Katihar and heard the tragedy and the victim complained to Kedha police station and told the media that, 'After failing to give dowry, her husband and in-laws had given her intoxicating drugs. In a state of unconsciousness, the in-laws sold her in the Red Light area of Kanpur.'
In this case, police officer Vikas Kumar said, 'First the case has been found to be correct and has registered a case in Koda police station. We will arrest the accused soon.'
