Beijing; Globally, smartphone makers are hopping on the fast-charging train. On the Note 12 Discovery Edition phone, Xiaomi-owned Chinese company Redmi has now showcased the record-breaking 300W wired charging technology.

The business demonstrated how quickly the device can be fully charged in a Weibo video. We don't know if the technology will move to production-ready models.

In the smartphone industry, innovation is the only means to survive as new technologies get dated very quickly. Redmi will have a significant advantage over its competitors if it can implement 300W fast-charging technology in its products.

Charging phones for long periods of time is a hassle for people everywhere, and this new technology will undoubtedly give users peace of mind.

Redmi used a modified Note 12 Discovery Edition for testing, replacing the standard 4,300mAh battery with a 4,100mAh battery. The phone was connected to a superfast charger that delivered around 290W during charging as opposed to the company's claim of 300W.
For the results, the company used "more than 50 security items" in the adapter.

According to the tech demo video, the phone's battery was charged 50 percent in two minutes and 13 seconds. A full charge took four minutes and 54 seconds, just six seconds less than five minutes. The charging rate clocked in at 290.6W as seen in the video. This is incredibly impressive and gives the business a lot to brag about.

Redmi's Chinese competitor is taking the development of fast charging technology seriously. Realme has unveiled the GT3 smartphone, which charges 100% in 9.5 minutes using 240W fast-charging.

While the OnePlus 10T takes around 20 minutes to recharge, the OnePlus 11 with 100W charging support can be charged in 24 minutes. As you can see, Redmi's 300W charging solution is currently uncontested.
