USA: WhatsApp for Windows native app has received an update that adds the ability to create a link to join a call via the official beta channel.

With the press of a button, this feature instantly creates a new, exclusive link for voice/video calls. After that, users can send the URL to their contacts, who can immediately join the call.

The in-app calling experience on Windows is being improved by WhatsApp. The current stable versions of WhatsApp for iOS and Android already support the creation of call links.

It is currently rolling out to some Windows beta testers. Soon, a wider rollout is expected. Thanks to this feature anyone can join a specific call by clicking on the shared link.

Open the "Calls" tab in the WhatsApp Windows Beta app. Now select "Create Call Link" from the menu. Two call types are available: voice and video.

A link is generated once the type is selected and can be copied and sent internally or outside the app. Using the URL you share, people you invite can quickly join your audio/video session.

With Call Link for WhatsApp, you can invite people to call you without even adding them to your contact list.

This is a feature that is quite useful for one-time calls. The URL is always different every time you create a new call link, which prevents anyone from joining your private calls without your permission.

You can download the new Call Link feature of WhatsApp for Windows from the official beta channel of the Microsoft Store. At the moment, it's only available to a handful of beta testers who have installed the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2307.1.0 update.

A feature is coming soon that will allow users to schedule audio and video calls on WhatsApp for iOS and Android.

People will first see this on the beta version of the app, where they will see a new context menu with a call scheduling option. They will be able to specify a date, time and even a name for the expected call.
