USA: ChatGPT by OpenAI is an upcoming target of Elon Musk. According to The Information, the billionaire co-founder of OpenAI has approached AI experts to create an alternative to ChatGPT.

Igor Babushkin, a former employee of Google's DeepMind AI division, is said to have held discussions with the Tesla CEO about leading the project. As a result of ChatGPT's security measures, Musk has criticized OpenAI.

OpenAI's ChatGPT has a ton of capabilities. It is capable of writing code, having human-like conversations, creating essays, and many more.

But there are some things it cannot do. There are safeguards in place to prevent chatbots from creating inciting or offensive content, abusing users or answering inappropriate questions. Some people think that the purpose of these protections is to make the chatbot more "awake".

Musk has criticized OpenAI for taking security measures, but Babushkin told The Information that Musk has no intention of building AI without them.

The two have discussed putting together a team to conduct research, but discussions are still in their preliminary stages. According to Babushkin, he has not yet decided on the development of a specific product. He further said that he was not an official member of Musk's project.

Babushkin was asked by Musk to lead the project because of his experience with the Extensive Language Model (LLM). LLMs power chatbots like ChatGPT.

Babushkin's knowledge suggests that Musk is aiming for a direct ChatGPT rival, despite the fact that Musk claimed they did not discuss any specific projects.

Musk praised ChatGPT's capabilities, describing it as "scary good". However, he has also urged caution. He once tweeted, "We are not far from dangerously strong AI."

The Twitter CEO has urged regulation of AI as he sees it as a greater risk to society than vehicles such as cars, planes or even medical equipment. Musk suggested that regulating AI "could be a good thing."

In 2015, Musk played a key role in founding OpenAI. However, he left the company in 2018 because he objected to some of what OpenAI wanted to achieve.

He recently took another step away from OpenAI, claiming that the business has changed since he co-founded it. He was referring to Microsoft's collaboration with OpenAI.
