Amidst the havoc of Corona, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao has said that it has been decided to cultivate regulatory agriculture in the state with the sole purpose of benefiting the farmers.

According to a statement by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) of this scheme, Rao wants farmers to cultivate crops suggested by the government. He also announced that regulatory cultivation of paddy will start from the upcoming monsoon season. It has been decided that 50 lakh acres of paddy will be cultivated in the state. On May 15, the Chief Minister has decided to hold talks with field level officials in this regard.

The Chief Minister held a high-level review meeting at Pragati Bhavan on Tuesday, in which the changes in crop pattern and establishment of crop colonies were discussed. The Chief Minister said, 'About 90-95 percent of the population in the society is dependent on the agricultural economy. We have to consider how to get respectable prices for the crops cultivated by farmers in our state.'
