Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has announced that Jio now handles about 8% of the global data traffic, positioning India as the world's largest data market. Speaking at the company's 47th Annual General Meeting, Ambani highlighted Jio's significant role in this achievement.

"Jio's efforts have made India the largest data market globally. Today, Jio manages nearly 8% of global mobile traffic, outpacing even the most prominent global operators, including those in developed markets," Ambani stated. He also mentioned that the company has filed 350 patents related to 5G and 6G technologies.

Ambani praised the company's commitment to affordability, noting that Jio's data prices are now just one-fourth of the global average and only 10% of those in developed countries, making its services accessible to a wide audience.

The Reliance chair further revealed that Jio's customers are consuming over 30 GB of data monthly, contributing to a 33% increase in the company's data traffic over the past year. He described Jio as the "world’s largest mobile data company," boasting a user base of 490 million.

In addition to its dominance in mobile data, Jio has also made notable progress in the home services sector. The company's broadband, streaming, and digital TV services have expanded significantly, now reaching nearly 30 million homes across the country, making Jio one of the largest digital home services providers globally.

Among business users, Jio has become a trusted partner for over a million small and medium businesses in India. Ambani also emphasized Jio's influence among larger enterprises, stating that the company is proud to serve more than 80% of the top 5,000 large enterprises in the country.
