India's leading telecom giant Reliance Jio has once again hit out at the average 4G download speed figures published by TRAI for July. Jio's average download speed in July was 21.0Mbps, up from 17.6Mbps in June. In the first 7 months of this year, Reliance Jio has been ranked top in terms of 4G download speed. According to data published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Bharti Airtel's performance in July fell to 8.8Mbps as against 9.2Mbps in June. While Vodafone and Idea Cellular have merged their businesses and are now operating as Vodafone Idea, TRAI shows the data varying. Vodafone network also recorded a decline in average 4G download speeds. It fell to 7.7 Mbps in July compared to 7.9Mbps in June. Idea registered a slight improvement in July. Now its 4G download speed has grown to 6.6 Mbps. Vodafone topped the average 4G upload speed chart with 5.8Mbps in July.
The average upload speeds of Idea and Airtel in the month of July were measured at 5.3Mbps and 3.2Mbps respectively, according to the information received. Both recorded a slight decline in average 4G upload speeds. While Jio saw improvement with an average upload speed of 4.3Mbps. Average speed is calculated by TRAI based on real-time data collected with the help of MySpeed App.
