New Delhi:- Reliance Jio has announced the launch of a new Jio Bharat mobile phone aimed at turning India into a '2G-Mukt Bharat'. The company will begin beta testing the first million Jio Bharat phones on July 7 with 6,500 devices. The price of this new internet-enabled phone is 999 rupees. Meanwhile, the company also plans to launch its JioPhone 5G device later this year.
Recently leaked live footage of the phone has revealed that the JioPhone will likely feature dual rear cameras. The telecom company announced on Monday that it will launch an entry-level mobile phone with internet for just 2000 rupees.
The company said the launch of these handsets is a step in India's digital empowerment. Reliance Jio will begin beta testing his phone on July 7th. In the testing phase, the company plans to distribute its 1 million phones to 6,500 devices.

These smartphones are specifically targeted at customer groups who cannot afford expensive smartphones and have problems accessing the internet. "India still has 250 million mobile phone users, 'trapped' in the 2G era and without basic internet capabilities," said Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio.
India is now moving to 5G and the company wants to turn India into a 2G-Mukt Bharat by selling cheap mobile phones with internet access.

The company also announced the base pricing for its top-up plans. Jio offers Jio users unlimited voice calls and 14 GB of data for just Rs 123 per month.
Meanwhile, the upcoming JioPhone is speculated to come in a black colorway. A Twitter user said that the top center would house a dual rear camera module, presumably led by a 13-megapixel AI camera with a 2-megapixel secondary lens.
