Foods that have grown in more acidic soils may have less calcium, magnesium, and potassium. People have also used herbs and supplements to reduce back pain. One study found that the following herbs reduce back pain more than a placebo.

Devil’s claw: 50 or 100 mg daily
Willow bark: 120 or 240 mg daily
