BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's 1tth death anniversary will be observed on 3rd May, 2019. Born on 30 October 1949 in Andhra Pradesh, Pramod Mahajan was one of the most prominent second-generation leaders in the BJP.

It was on 22 April 2006, that  Pramod Mahajan’s younger brother, Pravin shot him. Pramod was rushed to hospital, but the doctors were unable to save his life. He died on 3 May 2006. His bloody end is a face of the ink side of Indian politics. No one can believe that a leader with such a huge personality was put to death by his brother. Not everyone can be comfortable discussing it. Behind which there are so many human qualities and vices hidden behind it, such as conspiracy, competition, jealousy of progress.

Pramod Mahajan was credited with leading BJP to numerous poll victories. However, he faced much flak for the BJP’s defeat in the 2004 general elections. He was the Minister for Telecommunications in the Union Government between 2001 and 2003, besides serving as the Parliamentary Affairs minister.

One of the most resourceful politicians of his time, Pramod Mahajan cut a strong figure across all party lines. On his death anniversary today, we remember the life and times of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader.

Mahajan always welcomed new ideas and latest technology and used it for the party's growth. He has a major role in the growth of BJP. He handled various ministries including information and broadcasting, parliamentary affairs, water resources and food processing etc.
