Sathya Sai Baba (born Ratnakaram Sathyanarayana Raju; 23 November 1926 – 24 April 2011) was an Indian guru. At the age of 14, he claimed that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba, and left his home to serve his devotees.

Sathya Sai Baba was of the belief that individuals can appreciate and become who they really are by turning their faith towards God and an intense yearning to know him. He used to say that conscience is a reflection of eternal spirit.

Notably, Sathya Sai Baba's life has been surrounded by mysteries and he performed many such miracles in his life that people started considering him as 'guru'.  People who believe in Sathya Sai Baba are present not only in the country but also abroad and today Sathya Sai centres are set up in about 150 countries of the world

There are many Sai organizations in India and there are Sai devotees following the spiritual rules of Shri Sathya Sai Baba and spreading the spiritual messages of Baba. His followers consider him as an incarnation of Sai Baba of Shirdi. It is said that Sathya Sai Baba always kept saying through his discourses, "I am not a form of body, I am a form of soul, do not consider me as a body." With this, he also predicted this his next incarnation Prema Sai would be born in 2024. Devotees of Sathya Sai Baba considered him a miracle man and many of his 'miracles' have also been in the discussion. Some people considered his miracles as magic.

Sathya Sai Baba was a highly revered spiritual leader whose life and message inspired millions of people to turn God-ward and to lead more purposeful lives. His timeless and universal teachings, along with the manner in which he led his own life, attracted seekers of truth from all the religions of the world.

The sudden arrival of a gold chain or ring in his hands, the removal of gold Shiva lingam from his mouth on Shivaratri, were such miracles that led to the deepening of their devotees' faith in him, but many people did not agree. It is said that miracle happened even during the birth of Sathya Sai Baba when the instruments kept in the house suddenly started ringing and there are many stories related to Sathya Sai Baba which are famous.

It is said that one day in his school, his teacher made him stand on the bench for no reason and he kept silent on the bench for hours after obeying the teacher and when the class was over, his teacher started getting up from his chair. He could not stand. It is said that this happened due to the 'miracle' of Sathya Sai Baba.
