Remo D'souza, known in Bollywood for his poles style, is a big name in the dance world. Remo, originally from Kerala, was born on 2 April 1974 in Bengaluru. He made his debut as a director in the film 'Shakti' in 2011 and then he also directed 'Race 3'. The real name of choreographer Remo D'Souza is not Remo, but he has given this name to himself.

His real name was Ramesh Gopi, which was given to him by his parents, but as he grew older, he was not interested in this name and thought of changing his name. Finally he changed his name to Remo D'Souza. His father K.K. Gopi is a cook in the Air Force. Remo's mother Madhavi Laxmi is a housewife. He comes second in six siblings and studied in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Remo passed 10th from Gujarat. During the board exam, he had decided that now he will not study further.

After that he left school again and came to Mumbai. His long struggle started here. In the beginning of his career, he started a dance class called Super Brits on Churni Road and after that he opened two more branches in Andheri, Borivali with 3 friends. Remo himself told in an interview that many times during the rainy season, he did not have a student at any time, then there was no money to eat. He was first noticed when his team came first in the All India Dance Competition. After that, in 1995, Ahmed Khan gave him an opportunity as his assistant in the film 'Rangeela' and after this film his luck shone.
