Scientists are working on the second arm for their NASA mission, thus the robots can stay for long in the space and can take over the research through the programmed intelligence. Scientists are planning to develop 6 leg robot, for their next project.

Researchers have found that 6 legged robots are much faster than those with two. The team of scientists from the University of Lausanne and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland, out of which one is of Indian origin have discovered this invention.

Pavan Ramdya, one of the associates of the research team said, "We wanted to determine why insects use a tripod gait and identify whether it is, indeed, the fastest way for six-legged animals and robots to walk.”
