New Delhi: There is always the slightest illusion of being fake with respect to big notes like 500 and 2000 rupees. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a new Mani app in view of these problems. Through the 'Mobile Aided Note Identifier' (MANI) - Mani App, you will be able to identify fake and genuine notes. The new app is fully capable of identifying Mahatma Gandhi series banknotes.

RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das while launching this app on January 1 said that Mani is only for identifying fake notes. The app is effective in identifying any part of both sides of the note. It can also identify notes once folded. This app can scan a note from any angle and identify it to be real or fake even in low light. After scanning the note completely, the app will give information about the value of the note in both English and Hindi languages.

Banks will be closed for 14 days in January 2020

The new Mani app can only work in both Apple and Android operating systems. You can download it from the Google app, Google play App and iOs App Store. The visually impaired people will also be able to know the value of currency notes with this app. RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has launched the 'Mobile Aided Note Identifier' (MANI) app on Wednesday.
