The state of Telangana is making its way to growth. A historic decision was taken by the Telangana State Legislative Assembly as they approved the new Revenue Bills providing the way for developments in land administration and registration in the State. Few bills namely The Telangana Rights in Land and Pattadar Passbooks Bill 2020, the Telangana Abolition of the Posts of Village Revenue Officers Bill 2020, the Telangana Municipal Laws Amendment Bill 2020 and the Telangana Panchayat Raj Amendment Bill 2020 were given approval without any changes after discussions lasted for more than five hours.

“These bills are only the first step in ushering revenue reforms in the State. Though providing conclusive titles to landowners could put an end to land disputes in the State, we still have a long way to go to establish complete reforms which will require the enactment of some more laws and abolition of others," Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao reported said. The CM was reverting to issues given by legislators during the debate on the Bills.

The Chief Minister also explained that the Dharani website which was getting launched as part of the new Revenue Act will be administered by Telangana State Technology Services (TSTS) under the view of the State government and will not be outsourced to any private corporation. On safety of the data, he emphasized that the land records will be kept in three forms – e-records, digital records and also in the form of physical documents. Similarly, the data will be stored in different servers in safe locations across the nation and all measures will be taken to safeguard them.
