New Delhi: In a short span of time, Xiaomi has made a lot of progress in the television market in India. Televisions from Xiaomi are often on the radar of many buyers in India looking for affordable, value-for-money big-screen TVs.
Xiaomi is one of the top brands in the smart TV market. OLED and QLED TVs are among its high-end options, but the brand is best known for its reasonably priced accessories, making the new Xiaomi Smart TV X series particularly relevant in its expanding product line.
Xiaomi Smart TV X Series, priced at Rs. 34,999 in India for the 50-inch model (L50M7-A2IN) under review, comparable to the Mi TV 5X, which debuted in 2021, but takes a more rigorous approach with fewer features and frills in favor of more affordable pricing Takes.

Xiaomi Smart TV X Series X50 . Design and specification for
Three sizes from 43 to 55 inches have been introduced for the Xiaomi Smart TV X series. According to the company's launch prices, the 43-inch model will cost Rs. 28,999, the 50-inch model is priced at Rs. 34,999, and the 55-inch model is priced at Rs. 39,999.
The 50-inch X50 model was available for Rs. 31,999 at the time of writing this review on the company's official online store. With similar specifications and Ultra-HD resolution across the board, the only notable difference between the three variants is the size of the display.
As mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Smart TV X series eschews some features in favor of a more affordable price, including some aspects of the television's design.
The included stands are made of plastic, and the back of the TV is fairly plain to see (unlike the metal stand included with the Mi TV 5X). On the TV front, however, there are no clear differences; It has a simple design with thin bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio.
Just above the module for the bottom indicator light is the Xiaomi logo. The Xiaomi Smart TV X50 lacks the hands-free Google Assistant, the TV's built-in microphone, and a sliding switch to mute it, unlike the Mi TV 5X.

The ports on the back of the TV are on the left and down, and there's enough room around them for convenient connections, even if the TV is mounted on the wall.
Also, Xiaomi hasn't skimped on ports, and the options are the same as they were with the Mi TV 5X. Three HDMI 2.1 ports (one of which supports ARC/eARC), two USB Type-A ports, digital optical (TosLink), Ethernet, AV input, and a 3.5mm jack for wired headphone or speaker connectivity with antenna connectivity provided has been done. ,
For my review, I wall-mounted the TV, and even with the low-profile wall-mount kit, it had enough clearance to access the ports when necessary.
The wall-mount kit is not part of the sales package, but a Xiaomi technician can give you one when the device is installed.
The 50-inch Ultra-HD (3840x2160-pixel) LED screen on the Xiaomi Smart TV X50 has a refresh rate of 60Hz and supports Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG high dynamic range formats.

The TV's down-firing speaker system has a 30W rating for audio output and supports Dolby Audio, DTS-HD and DTS Virtual X formats.
The TV has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage for apps and app data, which is less than the 16GB of storage on the Mi TV 5X.
Decision
The X series refines the concept even more successfully. Xiaomi's televisions in India have always carried a value-for-money proposition far ahead of the competition.
In terms of fundamental specifications, it doesn't differ much from the more expensive Mi TV 5X range, but it does eliminate some features that could be seen as unnecessary extras.
The end result is a capable low-cost Ultra-HD TV that largely performs its intended functions and costs Rs. 34,999 for the 50-inch model (dropping to Rs 31,999, depending on the seasonal price), offers excellent value for money.
Despite a few minor flaws, picture quality is respectable, audio quality is excellent, and overall software and UI performance is satisfactory.
