BHOPAL: The Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, known as the 'Land of White Tigers', is gearing up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will address a massive rally in Rewa on April 24.

There are security measures in place, including a significant police presence. A "NO FLY" zone alert has also been issued for the area around a helipad that is situated outside the city. Repairs are being made to the city's dilapidated roads that lead to the Special Armed Forces ground, where the Prime Minister will speak to the people on April 24 in honour of "Panchayati Raj Day."

Rewa District Collector Pratibha Pal, who has newly taken charge, is reviewing the preparations.

Prime Minister Modi is slated to lay the foundation stone for Rs 7.573 crore "Jal Jeevan Mission" project during his visit. The project aims to supply Rewa, Sidhi, and Satna district with potable water. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-rural), the Prime Minister is also anticipated to give homes to 4.11 lakh beneficiaries.

The PM would also launch three new passenger trains viz., the Rewa-Itwari via Chhindwara train, the Chhindwara-Nainpur passenger train, and the Nainpur-Chhindwara train. He will also dedicate the redevelopment projects of the railway stations in Indore and Gwalior.

It will be the second trip to the state in a month for Prime Minister Modi. When he last visited Bhopal in April, he flagged down a Vande Bharat train for the route from Bhopal to New Delhi.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, stated as he reviewed the preparations for the arrival of the prime minister, "It would be a momentous day for the state. He requested that participants join the programme virtually.
