NEW DELHI: Apple CEO Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and emphasized that he is committed to growing and investing across the country since they discussed with him technology-driven transformations happening in India.
Cook complimented PM Modi for the cordial reception he received when visiting India to open the company's flagship retail locations in Mumbai and Delhi.

Cook posted a photo with PM Modi alongside a tweet that read, "We share your vision of the great impact technology can make on India's future, from education and developers to industry and the environment. Cook said, "We are dedicated to expanding and making investments all around the nation. An incredible pleasure to meet you, @tim_cook, PM Modi responded. I'm happy to share my opinions on various subjects and draw attention to the tech-driven changes happening in India.
Along with expanding its retail footprint, Apple is stepping up its manufacturing in India.
Since starting to assemble new iPhone models and create an increasing number of components in India in 2017, Apple has partnered with vendors.
In FY22–23, Apple exported iPhones and iPads worth $7.5 billion to India amid a drive for local manufacture and a planned strategy for widely dispersed retail stores.
According to preliminary estimates from market intelligence company CMR, Apple sold more than 7 million iPhones and 500,000 iPads into the nation in FY23, representing a 28% increase in iPhone shipments.
