New Delhi: The Indian squad for the five-match T20I series against the West Indies has been declared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Tilak Varma has received recognition for his outstanding efforts while playing for the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League.

Tilak Varma, a star batter for the Mumbai Indians, has been picked for T20 series against West Indies. The Hyderabadi teenager has played 25 games since making his IPL debut last year and has 740 runs at an average of 38.95 runs per game. 16 List A games, 15 T20 games, and 4 first-class games have all been played by him.

However, Rinku Singh, one of the top run scorers, was not taken into account.Hardik Pandya will take charge as the captain for the series, whereas Suryakumar has been designated as Vice- Captain.

The Men in Blue are most likely to open with Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. In the 16th year of the competition, they were unstoppable for Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals.

Yashasvi is also included in the Test squad. Jaiswal made 625 runs in 14 games for the Rajasthan Royals during his outstanding IPL 2023 season.

Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Ravi Bishnoi have all been recalled back by the selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar.

Meanwhile, senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma continue to miss out on the T20Is against the Caribbeans .
