RIP Veeru Devgan: B-town celebs pay last respects to stunt director

Bollywood directors and father of actor Ajay Devgn passed away at the age of 77. As the cremation was to take place at 6 PM at Vile Parle West the immortals were taken away from the residence for the last rites. Celebs like Anil Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Suniel Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Raza Murad, Arjun Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and many others were spotted at the residence.

Veeru Devgn was one of the most celebrated action and stunt directors in Bollywood. The exact reason for his death is yet unknown. According to a report in Mid-day, he was admitted in Surya Hospital, Santacruz, Mumbai.

He hardly attended film events in the recent past (probably owing to his health and old age) and was last seen at the screening of Ajay'sTotal Dhamaal.

Veeru had choregraphed fight and action scenes for over 80 Hindi films including Ishq (1997), Shahenshah (1988), Khoon Bhari Maang (1988), Mr India (1987), Himmatwala (1983) and Mr. Natwarlal (1979). He even directed Hindustan Ki Kasam in 1999, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay and Manisha Koirala. He also worked on Ajay's debut movie Phool Aur Kaante which featured the famous scene of Ajay entering on two bikes.
