Sydney: Team India has suffered a major setback during the Sydney Test on Saturday in Australia. The team's young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been taken to the hospital for a scan after suffering an elbow injury. Pant suffered an injury while batting in the first innings in the third Test against Australia in Sydney. During Australia's second innings, Wriddhiman Saha took over the wicketkeeping.
While playing the short ball of Pat Cummins, Pant got beat and the ball hit his elbow. Pant appeared in great pain as soon as the ball hit. The team physio also examined Pant. He scored 36 off 67 balls for the team. India has scored 244 runs in response to Australia's first innings score of 338. Australia has taken a 94-run lead. The questions are being raised on Pant's keeping in this series. He had two catches by Will Pucovski in Australia's first innings. Saha was given a chance in the first Test. After this, Pant was included in the team due to the batting ability.
Ravindra Jadeja's injury is also a concern for Team India. A rising ball from Mitchell Starc hit his thumb. Jadeja played a useful inning of 28 runs. Now it will be important to see if he will be able to bowl or not. Mayank Agarwal has replaced him in the second innings for fielding.
