London: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson resigned from his post on Thursday following a rebellion in the party. The 41 ministers of the Conservative Party had resigned within two days, putting pressure on Johnson high. The pressure on Boris Johnson began on July 5, when Rishi Sunak, the finance minister in the UK government, resigned.

After this, the resignation of Health Minister Sajid Wajid also started to create a crisis in his chair. Four cabinet ministers of the ruling Conservative Party have so far resigned from the post. These include Sunak and Sajid Wajid as well as the names Simon Hart and Brandon Lewis. It is now being told that Indian-origin Rishi Sunak, who was the finance minister in the Boris Johnson government, is leading the race for the next Prime Minister of the country. Let us know that Sunak is the son-in-law of Infosys co-founder and veteran businessman Narayana Murthy.

The 42-year-old made history in February 2020 when Boris Johnson appointed him the country's finance minister. Earlier in January this year, a well-known UK bookmaker had also predicted that Boris Johnson may soon resign and in his place, Rishi Sunak could become the new PM. Rishi Sunak, MP from Richmond in Yorkshire, reached parliament in 2015 after winning the election for the first time. At that time, due to his support for Brexit, his stature in the Tory Party had continued to grow. Apart from Sunak, Penny Mordant, Ben Wallace, Sajid Wajid, Liz Truss and Dominic Raab are also in the race to become Britain's PM.
