Road Safety Campaign: Gadkari, Big B to give road safety tips to public today

New Delhi: A four-hour Telethon will be organized on Saturday (January 14) as part of the road safety campaign. The objective of this initiative is to raise awareness about the importance of road safety and help bring about behavioral change in people across India to make our roads safer for all road users. The program on TV will be held from 10 am to 2 pm.  

According to a release, an outreach campaign has been conceived with the aim to raise awareness among people regarding the dangers of non-compliance with traffic rules and promote a sense of shared responsibility toward road safety. In this program, the families of road accident victims will share their personal experiences and work done in the field of road safety. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, actor Amitabh Bachchan, Isha Foundation founder Sadhguru, McCann WorldGroup Asia Pacific President Prasoon Joshi, and SaveLife Foundation founder and CEO Piyush Tiwari will also be present to highlight the importance of a strong law and penal system and stringent traffic to help prevent accidents and subsequent deaths.  

Commenting on the initiative, Prasoon Joshi said, "The need of the hour is to educate people as well as other stakeholders to highlight the importance of road safety and inculcate a sense of responsibility." Piyush Tiwari said, ''Roads are shared assets as well as shared responsibilities, and to help well-informed, responsible road users take proactive steps towards making roads across India safer for themselves and others Can join hands with the government."
