On Thursday, the 57-year-old actor shared a photo of himself on a double date on Instagram. Lowe was dating Melissa Gilbert, the star of "Little House on the Prairie" at the time. Tom Cruise and Michelle Meyrink, who co-starred with Lowe in "The Outsiders," were also included in the candid photo.
"Double date 1980s style! I think this might’ve been the premiere of "The World According to Garp." #TBT," Lowe captioned the photo.

Lowe, dressed in a white jacket over a pastel pink shirt and white tie, appeared to be having a great time. By popping the collar on the jacket, he added a little pizazz to the outfit. Cruise, on the other hand, dressed modestly in a dark blazer, light blue shirt, and dark blue tie.
Although Lowe said he believed the photo was snapped during the "The World According to Garp" premiere, according to Getty Images, the picture appears to be taken during a screening of the film "'In The Custody of Strangers" in 1982.
