Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, Robert De Niro's grandson, passed away at the age of 19, his mother Drena De Niro revealed in a touching Instagram post. Just a few weeks ago, the actor announced that he had become a father for the seventh time at the age of 79. Now, tragic news about his grandson has surfaced.
Leandro was an aspiring actor who had landed parts in the 2018 films A Star Is Born and Cabaret Maxime as well as the 2005 film The Collection. He was the son of De Niro's adopted daughter Drena, 51, and artist Carlos Rodriguez.Â
Drena recently posted a touching Instagram tribute to her late son. She did not disclose the reason for his passing, but she shared a picture of Leandro with the heartfelt caption, "I wish that love alone could have saved you." She called him a "beautiful sweet angel."
