Rohan was born on March 6, 1985, in Mumbai but is a Nepali. Rohan is the son of Rakesh Shrestha, a well-known photographer. Rohan also destined in photography like his father. He has also worked with his father as an assistant.

His father Rakesh Shrestha, stepmother and his younger brother in Rohan's family. Rohan has completed his studies at the New York City Academy in the United States. Rohan's career began in 2009. He did his first shoot for the L'Oreal brand.
