Karan Mehra directed a press conference on 4th August (Thursday) evening and made some allegations against his former wife-actress Nisha Rawal. The actor, who is known for playing Naitik from the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has accused the actress of living with another man (Rohit Sethia) in his 4BHK apartment and 'enjoying' the luxury. The actor said that he decided to speak now because the case was in court. Karan also said that he was 'physically assaulted' and refrained to enter his own house.
"Nisha has been playing an image of a single mother to the kid, doing it all alone but she is living in my 4.5 BHK apartment, she has my business and is taking away my money and using to fight the case. My laptop, documents, money, everything is in that house... How will you prove your probity? It's not easy. I'm refrained to go to my own house. I was just left with five pairs of clothes in one suitcase, and I roamed in it for almost 5 months. Rohit Sethia called up some people from some political parties to scare me. They started chatting to my bankers. Who are these people to talk to my bankers? Car is mine, house is mine, and who are they to get in between? I have all the evidence. This is what is happening to me," says Karan.
Karan Mehra further shared, "In May, Nisha Rawal, Laxmi Rawat, and Rohit Sethia plotted against me and filed false cases. They made wrong allegations, evicted me out of the house, and assaulted me physically. I was getting better from Covid-19 and I was sleeping when they shove in. Laxmi was recording the video to see if I hit back or react when he was hitting me but I never hit back. I think why that recording never came out. It was a staged set. He assaulted me physically under the false excuse of being Nisha’s brother, and on the very same day, they both threatened that they will shoot me and my family."
"I have been getting death warning from ‘no caller ID numbers’. I usually ignore answering such calls. But few days ago the phone rang while I was resting and I answered without checking who was calling and got a death threat. My father, mother, and Kunal (elder brother) are also getting death threat which is very disappointing," concluded Karan Mehra.
The 39-year-old actor said that he has been fighting the case for the past 14 months and won't understand.
