Ranchi: Indian cricket team's opening batsman Rohit Sharma has become the batsman to hit the most sixes in any one Test series. Rohit has hit a total of 17 sixes so far in the ongoing three-Test series with South Africa. He has surpassed West Indies' Shimron Hitmaier's record of 15 sixes in a two-match series in 2018.

Rohit completed his sixth century of his Test career on Saturday on the first day of the ongoing third Test match in Ranchi. This is also his third century in this ongoing Test series with South Africa. Rohit holds the record for the most sixes in a single Test match. Rohit had hit a total of 13 sixes in the first Test match held in Visakhapatnam. Rohit broke the record of 12 sixes of Wasim Akram of Pakistan.

Now Rohit has held the record for most sixes for India in all three formats of cricket. Also, Rohit has become the second Indian opener to score three centuries in a series. Before Rohit, Sunil Gavaskar had scored three or more centuries in the same series on three occasions.
