Film director and producer Rohit Shetty turns 50 today, 14 March. Popular in the Hindi film industry, Shetty has many notable works to his credit.

Rohit Shetty was born on March 14, 1973, in Mumbai.  Rohit Shetty's father MB Shetty was an action choreographer, stuntman and actor in the film industry. You all must have seen him in the role of a villain in many films. At the same time, Rohit's mother Madhu worked as a junior artist in films.

Rohit Shetty has two brothers Uday Shetty and Hriday Shetty. In addition, he has four sisters. Very few people know that Rohit did his education from St. Mary's School in Mumbai, although since childhood, Rohit Shetty was more interested in films than studies. "Singham" is one of the first few from Rohit Shetty's cop universe films. There have been sequels of this film which the audience loved immensely. In the film, Ajay Devgn takes on the lead role of a daring cop. Singham earned Rs 1,400 crore worldwide.

"Golmaal 3" was released in 2010 and is the 3rd film in the Golmaal series. The film has a multi-star cast and it went on to become the second highest-grossing film of 2010.

"Chennai Express" was released in 2013 and stars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. The film is different from all the typical Rohit Shetty films and became a quick hit, which managed to earn Rs 1 billion domestically.
