SAUDI ARABIA: On Sunday in the Saudi Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo made his much-awaited Al Nassr debut but went scoreless as his new team defeated Al-Ettifaq 1-0. Ronaldo played the full 90 minutes and engaged the audience in his first game in Riyadh.

Shortly after the break, Brazilian forward Anderson Talisca gave Al-Nassr the advantage. Ronaldo sprinted into the box to try to meet a cross from Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem, but it flew over his head and was met by Talisca, who was able to score. A few minutes later, Ronaldo had a terrific opportunity to score on a free kick outside the box, but his attempt flew high and wide.

The 37-year-old raced the ball down to the byline in the second half and fired in a dangerous cross, but the ensuing attempt was off target. A Riyadh All Stars squad lost to Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain 4-5 earlier on Thursday, despite Ronaldo scoring twice for them in the exhibition game.

Al Nassr has one point more than the defending champion Al Hilal after 14 games.

Earlier on Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice for a Riyadh All Stars team in a 4-5 defeat to Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain in an exhibition match. With 14 games under their belt, Al Nassr has surpassed the reigning champion Al Hilal by 1 point.
