Roorkee: In Toda Kalyanpur village of Roorkee, a situation of quarrel arose between people of 2 communities late on Sunday night. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took stock of the whole case. Both sides said to investigate the case. Police have been deployed in the village. A woman from a community in the village of Toda Kalyanpur in the Civil Lines Kotwali area had run away with the youth man of another community 3 days ago due to illicit relationship. Their family filed an FIR. Since then, there is tension in the village. On Sunday night, a young man of the woman's family was returning home with the goods from the shop. During this time, people of the man's side say objectionable words about the woman upon seeing him.
When the young man went home and gave information, the matter spread to the whole region. Due to which hundreds of people of both communities came face to face and an atmosphere like confrontation was created. The police got information about the case, so police force rushed to the village and somehow managed to resolve the matter.
Police force has been deployed in the village, SP Dehat SK Singh has said that to maintain peace in the village. A warning has been issued to both the parties to resolve the dispute. Police is also looking for the couple.
