Dehradun: In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, the protest against the drive to remove the religious places built on the government land on the court's orders has reached Delhi and Lucknow. After a tweet on this issue by the former CM of Uttar Pradesh and BSP national president Mayawati, the issue got heated up on Tuesday evening. On the other hand, BJP MLA Deshraj Karnwal from Jhabrera has also reached Delhi on this matter. He says that not a single temple will be allowed to be broken.

On Monday, the District Administration, on the orders of the High Court, launched a campaign to remove the shrines built on government land in the entire city. Due to this, the shrines were removed from many areas including Luxor, Landaura, Khanpur and Pathari areas, but the administration had to return the procession due to opposition from the public led by MLA in many areas. The deadlock continues on many such issues.

On Tuesday afternoon, this case became a topic of discussion at the national level when BSP national president and former CM Mayawati tweeted that the decision to remove Sant Ravidas temple in Badshahpur area of Haridwar was wrong. She said that the BSP condemns such a decision. The government should find a solution. After Mayawati's tweet, local leaders of Bahujan Samajwadi Party also became active. State President Naresh Gautam said that the behaviour of the administration is unfortunate.
