New Delhi: Sir Sanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) said that Swadeshi does not mean the exclusion of every foreign item. Only those technologies or materials which are traditionally lacking in the country or which are not locally available can be imported. Bhagwat has said in the virtual book launch event that the economic policy that should have been prepared after independence did not become like that. After independence, it is not believed that we can do anything. Good that it has started now.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said that after independence, the knowledge and ability of his people was not looked at. We need to promote experience based knowledge in our country. He said that we should not depend on what comes to us from abroad. If we do this then we should do it on our own terms.

He has said that what is abroad is not to be boycotted, but to take it on their own terms. Describing the recently launched National Education Policy as the right step to make India self-sufficient, it said that such policies will make India realize the potential and traditional wisdom of its people.
