Kolkata: Maharashtra RTI activist and former foreign journalist Saket Gokhale joined the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday. This has been informed by the Trinamool Congress. Gokhale was given the membership of the party in the presence of party leaders Yashwant Sinha, Derek O'Brien, and Saugata Rai.
Saket Gokhale is an RTI activist. He started his career as a journalist. They have been seeking information under the Right to Information (RTI) on issues related to the nation for many years. He has recently sought information on how much budget was passed by the government on bank loans and Pegasus.
According to information provided by the party, being a financial affairs journalist, he is fond of new media and storytelling. After his tenure as a journalist, he also served in the field of digital marketing and media consulting. Gokhale has written articles for several major institutions, including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and Voice of America.
