Ranchi: A war has broken out in the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) over the 'Jharkhand Language Dispute' in Jharkhand. Former Silli MLA of JMM Amit Mahato and his wife Seema Mahato have resigned from the primary membership of the party. In this connection, both of them have sent their resignations to party supremo-cum-MP Shibu Soren on Sunday.
Let me tell you that Amit Mahato had lost to Sudesh Mahato in the election. On social media, the two announced their resignations, blaming the government's failure on the 1932-based local policy and language dispute. Recently, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had also made his policy clear. Since then there has been war.
In his resignation letter to Shibu Soren, he has written that the native language of any state is the mother tongue spoken by the ryots there. In Jharkhand, due to the constitutional status of Bhojpuri, Magahi, Angika, Urdu, Bangla, Oriya as regional languages, the language of the natives of Jharkhand has become extinct and marginalized by 100 per cent. He wrote, "On January 20, 2022, the government had appealed to the government to define the spirit of the revered Guruji, the basic spirit of the party constitution and the livings of Jharkhand, and the Khatiyan-based local policy and planning policy by February 20, 2022, with the aim of rebuilding the state." The government has not taken any drastic initiative on this issue so far, which makes me sad and I am not compromising on the Jharkhandi basic spirit and resigning from the primary membership and responsibilities, including all constitutional posts of JMM while sticking to my declaration.
