Kolkata: The BJP is running a Naban campaign on Tuesday against the ongoing corruption in the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal. Meanwhile, clashes between BJP workers and police have also been witnessed in many areas of the state. At the same time, the police have taken many big leaders and workers into custody to stop this campaign of BJP.

The BJP is protesting against the corrupt activities of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. It is reported that the police did not allow them to protest. BJP state president Sukant Majumdar said that the state police is behaving like a TMC cadre. At the same time, he has told that he was not given permission to march till the Secretariat. During the ongoing protest on Tuesday, the police have also taken senior BJP leader and MLA Shubhendu Adhikari into custody. Along with this, Rahul Sinha and MP Locket Chatterjee have also been taken into custody. It is reported that these leaders have been taken to Kolkata Police Headquarters in Lalbazar.

In Kolkata, the capital of Bengal, a clash broke out at Raniganj between BJP workers and the police going to join the Nabanna i.e. State Secretariat campaign. The same scene was later seen at Bolpur railway station as well. It is reported that the police were trying to stop the BJP members from going to the Nabanna Chalo march. During this many activists have been detained.
