Moscow: There has come a piece of comforting news for Indian students whose studies have been affected due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. In fact, Russia will provide facilities to Indian students studying medicine in Ukraine to study in its own colleges. Russia has invited such Indian students to complete their courses.

Announcing this, the Consul General of Russia in Chennai, Oleg Avdeev, said, "Indian students leaving Ukraine can continue their education in Russia, as the medical curriculum is almost the same. They know the language of the people. Most of them speak Russian. Welcome to Russia.'' Let us tell you that before the war, about 18000 Indian students studied in Ukraine. After the start of the war, the Indian government rescued them and brought them to India. For this, teams of Union Ministers were also constituted by the Central Government, who were engaged in bringing students from Ukraine to India by going to the countries sharing the border with Ukraine.

Actually, the Government of India conducts the NEET exam every year on an all-India level for students who want to become a doctor in India. Every year around 8 lakh students clear this exam. There are about 90,000 seats in the medical colleges of the country and half of these seats are in government medical colleges. In such a situation, there is a shortage of seats, and the rest of the students have to move to foreign countries. According to a report, about 20 lakh rupees are spent annually in private sector colleges in India. At the same time, about 10 lakh rupees have to be spent annually for medical studies in Ukraine.
